City of Lost Children actually creeps me out to a pronounced degree, and I take that as a mark of how good it really is. I adore Ron Perlman but he really added to the creepy vibe for me ... I'm used to seeing him as these strong, forceful roles, so to see him as this childlike person is odd. Though he did say once in an interview that the thing he's hated to do most, in any film of his, was attack Miette.
In my opinion, you will DEFINITELY like the book Battle Royale better than the film, despite the presence of Kuriyama Chiaki in the film.
And With a Friend Like Harry ... yeah, Patricia Highsmith called, The Talented Mr. Ripley wants its plot back. (Ripley was one of the most profoundly creepy and wonderful films I've ever seen.)
