How about English remakes of English films? There are a few Ealing Studio/Alec Guinness comedies I'd love to see redone so they get a bigger audience. But they'd have to stay UK. No Americanizing! (I'm looking at you, Tom Hanks)

That's ... more acceptable. I'm generally not a fan of remakes of any sort but eeevery once in a while there's one that's not bad.
